Adding a new justification type

How to add new types of justification

Written by Fulvia Chesi

When Fluida’s default justification types within each justification category aren't enough (for instance, if specific situations require unique approval rules or rounding settings) Administrators and Power Users can add new ones.

Fluida allows you to enable additional predefined types or create custom ones. This helps you manage specific company needs more accurately and use terminology that fits your internal language.

Add one or more predefined justification types

Before you start:

  • You must have an Administrator or Power User profile.

  • The Attendance management feature must be active for your company.

If the justification types currently active in your company don't fully meet your organizational needs, you can add new ones from Fluida's predefined list. To do this:

  1. Go to Company > Settings > Attendance management.

  2. Select Justifications.

  3. Click on the category where you want to add the request type.

💡 Make sure to select the correct category from the start: the request type you add will only be visible and available within that specific category.

  4. Click + Add.

  5. Select one or more items from the predefined list.

  6. Click Save to confirm.

The justification type is now added. Users can select it when submitting a request, and it will appear in the request list for that category.

By clicking on it, you can view all the justification details and customize the settings based on your company's needs.

Create a custom justification type

Before you start:

  • You must have an Administrator or Power User profile.

  • The Attendance management feature must be active for your company.

If Fluida’s predefined justification types (both active and available in the list) don't meet your needs, you can create custom justification types and define all settings, including the name. To do this:

  1. Go to Company > Settings > Attendance management.

  2. Select Justifications.

  3. Click on the category where you want to add the justification type.
💡 Make sure to select the correct category from the start: the request type you add will only be visible and available within that specific category.

  4. Click + Add.

  5. Scroll down and click Add custom.

  6. Choose a name and customize the other attributes as needed.

  7. Click Save to confirm.

The justification type is now created. Users can select it when submitting a request, and it will appear in the request list for that category.

By clicking on it, you can view all the justification details and customize the settings based on your company's needs.

Troubleshooting: Adding a justification type

I added a request type, but I don't see it in the expected category when submitting a request

If you cannot find a predefined or custom justification type in the expected category while submitting a request, it was likely added to a different category by mistake.

To fix this:

  1. Go to Company > Settings > Attendance management > Justifications.

  2. Locate the category where the justification type was added.

  3. Delete or disable the justification type.

  4. Add it again, making sure to select the correct category this time.

Once completed, the justification type will be available in the right place.
