A person's attendance calendar can be updated by adding new presence or absence events, or by editing and deleting scheduled ones.
Whether you can make changes depends on your user role, your work relationship with the person, the status of entries for the selected period, and the time frame (past, present, or future).
The table below summarizes when you can edit your own calendar or someone else's by adding, editing, or deleting events. These conditions apply only to changes in Confirmed status.

💡 If the option Prevent past entries is active, check the dedicated section below.
Who can edit their own calendar, and when
In general, anyone can edit their own calendar for the current day and future dates.
For past days, however, editing depends on whether entries are enabled for that period:
If entries are enabled: You can edit events on your own calendar.
If entries are disabled: Only Administrators, Power Users, and Subsidiary Managers can edit their own calendar. Other user roles cannot make changes.
Who can edit someone else's calendar, and when
Permission to edit another person's calendar depends on your user profile, whether you approve their time-off and presence requests, and the entry status for the selected period.
Approver: Standard users or Team Leaders can add new events (except sick leave) only for people whose requests they approve, but they cannot edit or delete existing events.
Subsidiary Manager: Can add, edit, and delete events for anyone whose primary location is one of the locations they manage.
Administrators and Power Users: Can add, edit, and delete events for any employee in the company.
💡 If entries are disabled for the selected period, only Administrators, Power Users, and Subsidiary Managers can add, edit, or delete events on other people's calendars.
Attendance calendar edits in companies that prevent past entries
If your company blocks past entries on the calendar, you can no longer edit past days once midnight passes, even if the current month is still ongoing.
In this case:
All users can only edit their own calendar for today and future dates.
Approvers can only add or edit events (excluding sick leave) for today and future dates for the people they approve.
Administrators, Power Users, and Subsidiary Managers (for employees assigned to their locations) can edit past days on other people's calendars.
Power Users cannot edit their own calendar for past days.
